The Interior Design specialization focuses on creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe interior spaces. Students gain skills in space planning, design principles, material selection, and project management. Graduates are prepared to work in interior design firms, architectural practices, and design consultancies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Introduction to Interior Design

    • Basics of space planning, design elements, and industry trends.
  2. Space Planning
    • Principles of space planning including layout, distribution, and functional zoning.
    • Techniques for creating effective and functional interior spaces.
  3. Design Principles
    • Design principles, including color theory, lighting, and aesthetics.
    • Techniques for applying design principles to create visually appealing and harmonious spaces.
  4. Material Selection
    • Principles of material selection, including durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.
    • Techniques for selecting and integrating materials into interior designs.
  5. Sustainability in Design
    • Principles of sustainability in design, including energy efficiency, renewable materials, and green building practices.
    • Techniques for designing sustainable and environmentally friendly interior spaces.
  6. Ergonomics and Building Codes
    • Principles of ergonomics, including human factors, comfort, and safety.
    • Techniques for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  7. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
    • Principles of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) in interior design.
    • Techniques for using software tools to design and model interior spaces.
  8. Project Management
    • Principles of project management, including planning, budgeting, and coordination.
    • Techniques for managing interior design projects from concept to completion.

  10. Final Project in Interior Design

    • Deliver a polished design project, portfolio, or presentation.
